The VC849 is a professional-grade outdoor PoE dome camera built for installations where image clarity, uptime, and physical durability matter. It records video at up to 3840 × 2160 resolution, delivering true 8MP (4K Ultra HD) detail. This higher resolution provides significantly more usable image data than 1080p cameras, allowing clearer identification when reviewing recorded clips or digitally zooming in on specific areas. The camera is powered using IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing both power and network connectivity to be delivered over a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies installation and improves long-term reliability compared to battery-powered or Wi-Fi-only cameras. When deploying multiple cameras, a compatible PoE switch can be used to centralize power distribution and networking.
